How to Choose a Christian Preschool: 8 Questions to Ask

1 min read

Touring preschools? Good. Visiting in person is the best way to choose. Here are 8 questions to ask at any Christian preschool, plus how we answer them at New Discoveries.

1. What will my child learn?

Look for real academics, not just play. At our school, children work on language, math, science, art, and music, with a focus on kindergarten readiness.

2. Who are the teachers?

Ask about training and background checks. Ours are trained to protect young children, background checked, and fingerprinted through the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.

3. How is the building kept secure?

Ask how people get in and out. Our center has locked doors all the way around.

4. Is the school licensed and following state health rules?

We follow KDHE guidelines, including for snacks and teacher training.

5. How do you guide behavior?

Look for kind, clear, positive methods. We use Conscious Discipline tools to teach self-control and good choices.

6. How is faith part of the day?

Ask to see it, not just hear about it. We share Bible stories, a new verse each month, and a prayer before snack. Kindness and gratitude show up all day long.

7. How do you handle allergies?

We are a peanut and tree nut free center, because some of our children have serious allergies.

8. Can I see the classroom?

Always. Call (316) 650-3719 to schedule a private tour at 2922 US-54 W in Andover. Meet the teachers and ask us anything.
