What Makes New Discoveries Different?

Who Can Enroll?
We offer three classes. Each one builds on the one before it.
3-Year-Old Class: a gentle first step into school. Your child must turn 3 by January 1 of the school year.
Junior Kindergarten: for 4 year olds, and for 5 year olds who are not going to kindergarten yet.
Young 5's Transitional Kindergarten: a bridge year for children who are 5 by December 31 of the school year.

What a Day Looks Like
A good day mixes learning and play. In the 3-year-old class, a day can include a morning welcome and free play, circle time with songs and stories, art projects, outdoor play, snack time, and learning centers for letters and numbers. See the full picture in a day in our 3-year-old class.
Safety Comes First
We follow KDHE guidelines. Our teachers are trained to protect young children. They are background checked and fingerprinted through the Kansas Bureau of Investigation. The doors are locked around the whole center. Details are in our preschool safety guide.
Snacks and Allergies
We provide a nutritious snack each day, following KDHE guidelines. Some children here have serious allergies, so we are a peanut and tree nut free center. Please keep that in mind for birthday treats and class parties. Learn more in our peanut and tree nut free preschool guide.
How We Guide Behavior
Little kids have big feelings. We teach self-control, kindness, and good choices with positive guidance. We use Conscious Discipline methods, like feeling charts and a self-control board. Read more in positive guidance at preschool.
